Steve Chappell was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to John and Gloria Chappell. John served as a County Agricultural Agent, and the family lived in several communities around New Mexico. Steve attended junior high and high school in Roswell, New Mexico, where the family was very involved in First United Methodist Church. At the church, Steve attended Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was active in the youth group, and this involvement fostered and nurtured a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Steve attended McMurry College in Abilene Texas, where he met his wife Sheri. They married in 1974, and are the parents of two amazing sons and two great daughters-in-law, Adam and Karla, and JT and Ginger. In his freshman year at McMurry, Steve felt the call to go into the ordained ministry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, major in Religion and minor in History, and went on to attend Iliff School of Theology, one of the 13 United Methodist seminaries in the US. He received a Masters of Divinity in 1978, and began his career in the itinerant ministry. The Chappells have served churches in El Paso,Tx, Marfa, Tx, Deming, NM, Santa Fe, NM, Roswell, NM, Abilene, Tx, and Hobbs, NM. Steve loves the Lord Jesus Christ, and wants to bring others into a saving relationship with Jesus in every way he can.
